Floatation Experience

Floatation therapy is a great way to relax both your body and mind. With over one thousand pounds of Epsom Salt in warm, body temperature water that is only about ten inches deep, you will experience a sense of weightlessness that you have never felt before. You will float with ease as you just lay back and relax. Your body will enter a state of calmness and relaxation as your muscles and mind get an opportunity to unplug from the world and genuinely relax. The salt is also very good for your skin and even after an hour of floating your skin will not even be pruned.

This service is available at both locations - Ocean City and Kent Island.

What to Expect

A PRIVATE ROOM

Since the float device is only made for one person at a time there is no need to worry about having to share your space. Each float device is in a private room with a door that locks, a shower, and all the items you’ll need for your float experience.

CLEAN AND NEAT SPACE

We keep each float room clean and tidy. We restock in between sessions and ensure that when you enter it is as if you are the first person to use that room today. The float device has a filtration simulation that cleans the device after every float session.

COMPLETE CONTROL

You are in complete control of your environment during the entirety of your float. You are able to close the float room door or leave it open. You can also leave the float pod lid open, cracked, or completely shut. You are free to get in and out as you please. The lights, music, and volume are also all adjustable from right inside your float device.

Planning a SURPRISE VISIT for someone? It might not be a good idea to surprise a friend without telling them what they’re going to be doing at Ocean Elements. Our services do require some initial health screening questions in the form of a digital waiver, and for floating, we need to know answers to a few personal questions about hair dye health conditions, and the ability to enter/exit a float suite on one’s own. And… did they shave today? The salt water might sting sensitive, freshly shaven skin. While most people do immensely enjoy float therapy, it’s best to ask someone if they’re interested in trying floating and are ready on that specific date before booking for them.

TO BEST ENJOY YOUR FLOAT

HAIR DYE

Wait at least 7 days after getting your hair colored or getting a spray tan.

EAT/DRINK

Avoid caffeine for 3-4 hours, but eat something light so that your stomach noises aren’t competing with your peaceful state.

SHAVING

DO NOT shave the day you float. It might sting and be quite uncomfortable.

NEW TATTOOS

If you have a fresh tattoo, you may want to wait at least 2 weeks, or until it is fully healed.

float frequency recommendation guide
  • Do I need to bring anything?
Nope, just yourself. Towels, robes, earplugs, hair ties, and everything else you need are provided.
  • What if I am claustrophobic?
People with claustrophobia consistently report no problems with floating. You’re always in control of your environment, and the float pods are very spacious.
  • Can I drown if I fall asleep?
Nope. Some people do fall asleep, but the water is so buoyant, you stay afloat. The worst that can happen is getting woken up by a bit of salt water in your eyes.
  • How are the tanks kept clean?
The highly sterile salt water is fully filtered 4 times through a 1 micron filtration system between each float, and is additionally sanitized with UV light.
  • Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! You can’t float together because the pods are designed for only one person, but you can certainly share the experience and spread the word about how great floating is!
  • Is this floating thing just a new fad?
Not at all. Floating has been around for over 60 years, and has lots of published research to back it up.
